ONE
The War on Waste – by waste, we don’t just mean stuff that you put in the bin. Our definition of waste includes wasted space, wasted food, wasted stock, wasted heritage, and wasted potential. Don’t be a waster!
TWO
Opportunities from Localised Procurement – this is the element of The Stoke Model most similar to others (e.g. The Preston Model), but is broader in that it considers opportunities for sole traders, SMEs and the third sector, and also business-to-business relationships
THREE
The Potteries Pound – The Potteries Pound is a community benefit token designed to reward volunteers and activists for investing their time in their community. It places a value on time and human potential that would otherwise be wasted, and can be recorded, giving rise to community social value.
FOUR
Stoke Anchor Institutions Network – this is a network of locally important organisations that will act as issuers and redeemers of The Potteries Pound, but will also be partners and collaborators in #bekind’s work towards implementing The Stoke Model.
FIVE
Universal Basic Services – #bekind believes that there are a range of services that are critical to human life (e.g. energy, food, shelter), and that the provision of these should be universal. #bekind recognises that it cannot tackle this alone, but in collaboration with others. However, we will intervene directly where we are able.
SIX
Stoke Innovation Unit – this is #bekind’s think tank, the place where we develop our business, and where we develop the tools to implement The Stoke Model. The Stoke Innovation Unit is about creative collaboration, and has a real commercial focus.
